Biography
I had a biography. But I uploaded a picture, and suddenly all my hard written work disappeared. Grrrrrrrr!
Okay, I'd rather be writing, but if I'm blocked, I might be surfing here.
I studied film/video art and theory in college under Ken Jacobs. An interesting man - Google his name. Ironically, the first screenplay I ever wrote he refused to read. A defining point in my screenwriting "career" was one of his classes - Freaks in the Art of Cinema. Required viewing included "Freaks," Elephant Man," and "Pink Flamingos" by John Waters (actually, ANYTHING by John Waters). We got extra credit for attending a midnight screening of "Caligula," so I took my boyfriend at the time. You could say I was a bit naive... But he ended up marrying me, so - Thanks, Ken Jacobs.
I've been fortunate to have a handful of scripts place well in a handful of competitions, anywhere between semifinalist to 4th place. Yes, 4th place - never a 1st, 2nd or 3rd. But those placements have qualified me to be a reader/judge in a couple of script competitions, and I've been doing that for several years.
